Heathkit - nouveauté
« le: 18 Décembre 2013, 00:57:26 »
Bonjour à tous,

Heathkit semble bouger. Voici se que je viens enfin de recevoir par courriel... Le sondage ne semble pas, pour l'instant, avoir été remplis pour rien...

Bien hâte de voir la direction qu'ils vont prendre et la qualité des produits!

A suivre!

---------

Dear Heath kit Insider,

Thank you for completing the Heathkit survey.
You now are a member of the Heathkit Insiders mailing list.

We appreciate the time you spent telling us what is important to you. We are listening. And we are reading---every single survey response is being read by at least one member of Heath Company's Board of Directors.

Many thousands of you wrote to tell us personal stories about your Heathkit experience and your hopes for us. We want you to know that we appreciate your well wishes, and we are working hard to bring this great company back.

We have published Frequently Asked Questions (and answers) on the heathkit.com website. This will answer many questions that you and other loyal Heathkit fans have been asking. Just visit

We have been working hard, and mostly quietly, for many months to define new products for you. From time to time, we will send out brief updates to you.

Later this week there will be a special "Ask Me Anything" event on Reddit.com where a member of Heathkit's Board of Directors will be available for an hour to chat live and answer questions about our progress and plans.

On Friday 20-Dec-2013 at 8pm EST / 5pm PST (which is Saturday 21-Dec 0100 UTC), please join us at

When the event starts, a link to it will appear at the top of that page.

A summary of the Reddit AMA session lives on at:
http://www.reddit.com/r/tabled/comments/1tdf45/table_iama_member_of_the_heath_company_heathkit/

(...)What kind of electronics kits are in the works that are related to HAM radio?

We're working on several projects simultaneously- we can see that there are lots of people ready to build a truly complex piece of equipment, and we want to meet that need. We really believe no one else is doing that today.

Second, there are people who hope to learn about ham radio by building entry-level accessible kits.

Third, there's interest in bringing back a few select vintage kits, and we can talk about those also if you're interested.
We're pursuing all of the above simultaneously for introduction in the first half of 2014.
(...)

(...)When can I build and write about a kit?

Joe! Thanks for your question. (By the way, I believe another one of our board members attended your Dayton Hamvention kit-building session and had a good time.)
For your question: We hope to introduce a few kits in the first half of 2014.
(...)

(...) Do you plan to offer any SDR kits?

Yes, that's on the short list.
(...)

(...) Is there any push to make kits for amateur radio geared towards newer technologies (digital modes, microcontrollers, etc.) or in areas that we don't really see kits (microwave)? Not that the old stuff isn't great, it's just that there's more to amateur radio than HF.

Yes and yes. There are two major ways that SDR is done today, and frankly we think both of them are wrong- there's a lot of room for doing digital right. Similarly, we see before us some spectacular opportunity in microwave, we just have to be sure there are enough people interested in building those kits. We may come out with a survey this year specifically on this topic to see if there's enough interest.
