Tom et moi VA2EPR (VA3SIE) 6 km parcouru la distance et l'altitude 2250 mètres au sommet Johanssen sur le massif du Mont-Tremblant, le plus haut sommet de la chaîne de montagnes des Laurentides. Nous avons commencé dans l'obscurité et nous avons vu l'aube de la piste, elle était très belle.
Au sommet, nous avons jeté une paire de fils d'antenne W3EDP dans les arbres sur les côtés opposés de la clairière au sommet, nous les avons levé près de 30 pieds. Nous avons prolongé notre fils contrepoids et archivés dans un réseau local d'Ottawa 80m club à 10 heures que le soleil se levait au-dessus des montagnes et ont commencé à nous réchauffer Tom monte alors le groupe et a commencé à appeler CQ SOTA alors j'ai participé à un réseau local d'Ottawa 80m CW.
Après le net, je me suis aperçu sur QRPSPOTS, mais personne n'est venu me chasser. Après un CQ, tout en appelant sans réponse, un spot SOTAWatch apparu pour Pierre VE2PID sur 20m. J'ai accordé à cette fréquence et j'ai entendu beaucoup de chasseurs qu'il travaille. Je pouvais entendre Pierre, mais très très faible. J'ai essayé de l'appeler pendant 10 minutes, mais les stations supérieures Chaser alimenté m'a noyé à chaque fois.
J'ai réglé autour et j'ai trouvé sur le sommet de Jean VE2UFT VE2/LR-006 (Kaaikop). Je ne m'attendais pas Jean parce que quand je avait vérifié les alertes, vendredi, avant de partir pour la montagne, je n'ai pas vu son alerte (ou Pierre VE2PID). J'ai aussi n'a pas reconnu son appel tout de suite, je suis habitué à VE2JCW. Mais quand j'ai réalisé qui il était, j'ai été très très heureux de prendre contact, Jean et je marche de Mont-Tremblant ainsi que l'année dernière :-)
Ce QSO avec Jean ouvrit les vannes, j'ai eu une belle piste des chasseurs au cours des 30 prochaines minutes à commencer par Phil NS7P qui m'a repéré et dont la plus haute DJ5AV chasseur placé en allemand et deux sommets de plus, Carl WA3SEE sur W3/CR-003 ( Sugarloaf) et JP VA2SG sur VE2/SG-030, le plus haut sommet SOTA dans la région du Saguenay. Ce fut une bonne pile-up pratique.
Alors que j'étais d'exploitation, de nombreux randonneurs plus atteint le sommet, il y avait autour de 10-15 randonneurs maintenant tous campé sur le sommet de manger le déjeuner. J'ai pris une pause et suis allé voir comment Tom faisait et prenez un peu de nourriture. Comme j'étais en train de déjeuner, je chuté à 40m et a appelé CQ, filet KB1PBA Chaser. Puis j'ai remarqué un endroit pour Rich N4EX et Dennis WA2USA sur 20m. Ils m'ont donné les contacts Chaser tant au cours des années que j'étais déterminé à faire un contact. Encore une fois cependant, j'ai eu à rivaliser avec les stations de chasseur fort. Riche et Dennis ne sont pas forts donc je peux deviner que je n'était pas non plus forte et ils n'ont probablement pas été m'entendre.
Après 20 minutes de l'injection de mon indicatif dans les frénétiques pile-up, j'ai attrapé une pause et Rich m'a entendu. J'ai été très heureux de faire ce sommet en particulier-à-sommet de QSO, il a été un contact durement gagnée.
Peu après, j'ai remarqué un autre endroit pour SOTAWatch Frandy NE1SJ sur Connecticut Hill (W2/WE-003). Ce contact a été facile à faire, nous avons eu des signaux forts. Après avoir terminé mon échange, Jim KK1W m'a demandé de QSY jusqu'à un. Je n'ai mais ce n'était pas Jim qui m'a appelé, il était Pierre VE2PID / P au sommet JSBourque dans la région de l'Estrie du Québec (VE2/ES-018) qui nous avait suivis jusqu'à 1kHz aussi:-D ... J'ai été très heureux de terminer l'échange avec Jim & Pierre parce que j'avais été incapable de briser le carambolage sur le chasseur tôt 20m. Pierre utilise un KX1 aussi.
Ma femme nous a rejoint au sommet alors j'ai mis mes KX1 sur le pilote automatique appelant CQ sur 40m avec une oreillette pendant que nous rattrape. J'ai reçu un appel de Mike W3MC (musique de Bear) - Mike est un garçon QRP Polar Bear Club membre (GRRRRR!) Comme Tom était démolir son poste, je retourné à 20m et mon QSO finale de la journée était Fred KT5X, le coureur de nuage. Fred m'a donné un rapport signal douces en Nouveau-Mexique.
Nous avons déchiré le bas et les trois de nous retourner haussé 4,5 km le long de la crête du massif, en visitant Bagman creuses et pleines bord avant de prendre le téléphérique à blanc de crête pour une balade bien méritée redescendre la montagne.
Un grand merci à tous les activateurs et chasseurs qui étaient dehors pour profiter du temps d'automne record beaux!

Tom VA2EPR and I (VA3SIE) hiked 6km distance and 2,250ft elevation to the Johanssen peak on the Mont Tremblant massif, the highest peak in the Laurentian mountain range. We started in the dark and we saw the dawn from the trail, it was beautiful.
At the summit, we threw a pair of W3EDP antenna wires into the trees on opposite sides of the summit clearing, we got them up around 30 feet. We extended our counterpoise wires and checked into a local Ottawa 80m club net at 10am as the sun rose above the mountain and started to warm us Tom then moved up the band and started calling CQ SOTA while I participated in a local Ottawa 80m CW net.
After the net, I spotted myself on QRPSPOTS but no one came to chase me. After a while calling CQ with no answer, a SOTAWatch spot showed up for Pierre VE2PID on 20m. I tuned to that frequency and I heard many chasers working him. I could hear Pierre but very very weak. I tried calling him for 10 minutes but the higher powered chaser stations drowned me out every time.
I tuned around and I found Jean VE2UFT on summit VE2/LR-006 (Kaaikop). I wasn't expecting Jean because when I had checked the alerts on Friday before leaving for the mountain, I didn't see his alert (or Pierre VE2PID). I also didn't recognize his call right away, I'm used to VE2JCW. But when I realized who it was, I was very very happy to make contact, Jean and I hiked Mont Tremblant together last year :-)
That QSO with Jean opened the flood gates, I had a nice run of chasers over the next 30 minutes starting with Phil NS7P who spotted me and including the highest placed German chaser DJ5AV and two more summits, Carl WA3SEE on W3/CR-003 (Sugarloaf) and J.P. VA2SG on VE2/SG-030, the highest SOTA peak in the Saguenay region. This was good pile-up practice.
While I was operating, many more hikers reached the summit, there were around 10-15 hikers now all camped out on the summit eating lunch. I took a break and went over to see how Tom was doing and grab some food. As I was eating lunch, I dropped down to 40m and called CQ, netting chaser KB1PBA. Then I noticed a spot for Rich N4EX and Dennis WA2USA on 20m. They have given me so many chaser contacts over the years that I was determined to make a contact. Again though, I had to compete with the stronger chaser stations. Rich and Dennis were not strong so I can guess that I was also not strong and they probably were not hearing me.
After 20 minutes of injecting my callsign into the frantic pile-up, I caught a break and Rich heard me. I was very happy to make that particular summit-to-summit QSO, it was a hard won contact.
Shortly thereafter, I noticed another SOTAWatch spot for Frandy NE1SJ on Connecticut Hill (W2/WE-003). This contact was easier to make, we had strong signals. After I completed my exchange, Jim KK1W asked me to QSY up one. I did but it wasn't Jim who called me, it was Pierre VE2PID/P on summit J.S.Bourque in the Estrie region of quebec (VE2/ES-018) who had followed us up 1kHz also :-D ... I was very happy to complete the exchange with Jim & Pierre because I had been unable to break the chaser pileup on 20m earlier. Pierre uses a KX1 also.
My wife joined us at the summit so I put my KX1 on autopilot calling CQ on 40m with one earbud while we caught up. I got a call from Mike W3MC (Music Bear) - Mike is a fellow QRP Polar Bear Club member (GRRRRR!) As Tom was tearing down his station, I flipped over to 20m and my final QSO of the day was Fred KT5X, the cloud runner. Fred gave me a sweet signal report into New Mexico.
We tore down and the three of us hiked 4.5km back along the ridge of the massif, visiting Bagman Peak and Edge Peak before catching the cable car at White Peak for a well deserved ride back down the mountain.
